Figuratively speaking

YOUR wedding day is not the time to make a style mistake, so follow these tips to make sure you get it right.

Petite

If you are on the short side, avoid dresses with lots of detail around the hem. Go for a higher waist. A V-shaped waist is fine as long as it it is not cut too low.

Tall and slender

You are lucky in that most dresses will look good and especially two-pieces. Avoid anything too plain.

Square shape

Create the illusion of a waist by choosing a dress with detail that comes to a point at the front below your tummy. Better quality dresses will often be shaped at the waist to help.

Large shoulders

A strapless dress or one with shoestring straps looks best. Avoid halter-necks.

Big tummy

Folds of fabric will help hide your tummy, as long as they drape across your front on an angle.Full busted Strapless is a good idea. Most designs at present are cut quite high, so you won’t spill over. A bodice will help to accentuate your shape.

Small busted

Opt for detail on the top part of the dress and avoid anything too plain. Folding layers or cowl necks will help, as will dresses with built-in cups.
