A MASQUERADE ball to celebrate the end of the season for Dales businesses attracted more than 70 guests, helping to raise £1,500 for charity.
The Upper Wensleydale Business Association ball was held at Simonstone Hall, near Hawes, attracting more than 70 guests. Although many were local residents and business people, guests also attended from other towns and villages around the area. The event was in its second year.
The ball raised £500 on the night through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction, to add to a further £1,000 previously raised by the business association, which was donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Guests enjoyed a carvery dinner and dessert before a talk by local businessman Philip Holden MBE.
