A POPULAR market town youth shelter enjoyed a successful fundraising ball to help provide funds for its services.
Thirsk Clock youth project held its spring ball at the Watermill, in Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk, where it normally raises more than £1,000.
The black tie event this year proved a success too but organisers say they do not know yet the exact amount raised by the evening.
Abigail Homer McGhie, Thirsk Clock manager, said: “It went very well and it proved to be a really successful evening for us. There were about 50 people there and we had a meal and a disco – and we hope to have raised over £1,000 again.”
The funds from the evening will be spent on Thirsk Clock services, which are soon to relocate to a hall behind St James Green Methodist Church.
The money came from ticket sales and a raffle held on the evening.
