Kings Academy Prom

MORE than 140 year 11 pupils from the Kings Academy, Colby Newham, arrived in stretch Hummers, limos, Aston Martins and vintage police cars to celebrate the end of their exams.

Assistant vice-principal Carey Brownless said: “This is our seventh prom and each year they get grander and grander. The prom is a great chance to show the academy’s appreciation of the commitment and dedication that our students have shown over the last five years.

“All of the students in year 11 have been a real credit to the academy and hopefully we will have more reasons to celebrate when they get their exam results later in the summer.”

Student Daniel Webb, 16, of Linthorpe, who will be returning to Kings Academy sixth-formto study chemistry, biology, history and psychology, said: “This will be the last time I am with the whole year group so it will be quite sad, but it’s great to be all together to celebrate the end of our exams.”
